Every Residential Address to Receive Masks in the Mail

Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners approved a countywide mask mail out program for every residential address to receive four masks; two cloth masks and two pleated masks. The county is currently under a State of Emergency as a result of COVID-19 and issued a mandatory facial covering order effective June 25, 2020. Emergency Order Number 12 requires facial coverings to be worn in business establishments, public places, county and municipal governmental facilities and while riding on Palm Tran. Emergency Order Issued Requiring Masks or Face Coverings

Palm Beach County Emergency Order 2020-012 has been issued requiring face coverings in Palm Beach County. This order applies in all incorporated and unincorporated areas of Palm Beach County and will be effective Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 12:01 A.M. Facial coverings must be worn by all persons, other than those specifically exempted, while obtaining any good or service or otherwise visiting or working in any business or establishment, including entering, exiting, and otherwise moving around within the establishment. Coronavirus cases continue to rise in Belle Glade and Lake Worth

Two weeks after the reopening of some of the malls, restaurants and barbershops, 598 people tested positive for coronavirus in Belle Glade and Lake Worth areas according to the Department of Health. This number represents the 12.3 percent of Palm Beach County’s total caseload, jeopardizing the county’s collective progress against the virus. Other factors, such as language barrier, poverty and trust issues with the government, worsen the situation as mentioned by commissioners and other public officials, leading to the hotspots in Belle Glade and Lake Worth.
